== Equipment Ratings == === Power === * Input: 220/240V 50/60Hz * Power rating: 30VA (Smart Box EV : 60VA) === Connections === * 8 x 4mm socket pairs for digital sensor inputs, * 4 x 5-pin 180Β° DIN sockets for Smart Analogue Sensors, * 8 x 4mm socket pairs for digital outputs, rated at 5V (max. current for any one output 400mA; total max. current for all digital outputs 600mA), * 4 x 4mm socket pairs for motor outputs, rated at 5V (max. current for any one output 1.5A), * The total safe maximum load for all outputs, i.e. digital outputs and motor outputs together in any combination, is 1.5A. * 1 x 3-pin IEC socket with integral on/off switch and fuse, * 1 x 5-pin 240Β° DIN socket for connection to an RS232 computer interface socket. Connections on the Smart Box EV are identical, except for the motor outputs which are switchable between 6, 9, 12V. The current rating is the same as on the standard Smart Box. The equipment is designed for indoor use. == Equipment Installation == Connection to mains supply must be made by the lead supplied with the Smart Box. The equipment should be used in a well ventilated area to avoid the danger of overheating. == Equipment Operation == A reset button, marked RESET, is located on the rear panel of the box. On the standard Smart Box, press this button once to clear the internal program memory. On the Smart Box ''EV'', press the button once to clear the procedure that is running and restart the main procedure. Press the button twice to clear the internal program memory. The information presented in the [[Sensors]] and [[Outputs]] sections of this Smart Box manual identifies suitable accessories for use with the equipment. Identification symbols used on the equipment are in accordance with regulation IEC 417. In the event of fuse failure, release the fuse carrier which is integral to the IEC socket on the rear panel. Remove the fuse, and replace it with a T 500mA 20mm fuse (IEC 127 code). In 110V versions of Smart Box, use a T 1A 20mm fuse. Clean the case with a dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaning materials. Note that if the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection provided by the equipment may be impaired. == Equipment Maintenance == The equipment contains no user-serviceable parts other than the protection fuse. Users should undertake periodic visual inspections to check for damage to the case or the sockets. In the event of any such damage, the equipment should be returned to Economatics.
